To be eligible for student housing with CSB (Chalmers Studentbostäder), you must prove that you are an active student. This is done by uploading approved documentation to “My Pages” before signing your tenancy agreement.

Which Document Should I Use?

The required document depends on your current status:

1. New Students (About to start)

  • Proof of Application: If acceptance letters haven’t been sent yet.
  • Acceptance Letter: The official notification of selection results.
  • Certificate of Registration: If you have already registered for your courses.
  • Certificate of Expected Participation: Confirming your intent to study.

2. Current Students (Already started)

  • Certificate of Registration
  • Certificate of Expected Participation

3. PhD Students and Researchers

  • Employment Agreement: Must confirm current or upcoming employment and include a signature from your employer. Agreements for past jobs are not accepted.

4. Master’s Thesis Students

  • A certificate confirming ongoing or upcoming thesis work, specifying the time period, and featuring an official stamp or signature from the school.

Application Timing by Semester

  • Spring Term: You can apply for move-in from December. If you haven’t received an acceptance letter yet, you must show proof that you have applied.
  • Autumn Term: You can apply for move-in from June. If applying before July (when acceptance letters are sent), use your proof of application from antagning.se.

Note: If you sign a contract based on an application but are not accepted into your program, you must cancel the contract with 7 weeks’ notice.

How to Submit Your Documents

  1. Wait for the Email: Only upload documents after you receive an email from CSB asking you to log in and sign a contract.
  2. My Pages: Most students upload their files directly to “My Pages.”
  3. Returning Tenants: If you have lived with CSB before, you must email your certificate directly to CSB instead of using the automated portal.

Student Union Membership (Mandatory)

Living with CSB requires active membership in an approved Student Union. This is also how you earn maximum queue points. Eligible unions include:

  • Chalmers Student Union (Support memberships are not accepted)
  • Sahlgrenska Academy Student Union
  • Konstkåren
  • Göta Student Union
  • Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law Student Union

Crucial Point: Queue points are not awarded retroactively. Ensure you join your union as soon as you register for the housing queue.
