Living with SSSB (Stockholms studentbostäder) comes with specific obligations. To maintain your tenancy, you must actively study and remain a member of an affiliated Student Union.
1. Core Study Requirements
To be eligible to live in SSSB housing, you must meet the following academic criteria:
- Study Pace: At least half-speed (50%).
- Credits: Complete at least 15 ECTS credits (or equivalent) per semester.
- Affiliation: You must be studying at an SSCO-affiliated school.
SSSB also approves FUP (pre-education credits) for supplementary courses. Credit checks are performed when you sign a rental agreement, during periodic tenancy reviews, and via random checks.
2. Mandatory Student Union Membership
You must remain a member of an SSCO-affiliated Student Union throughout your entire stay.
- Daily Verification: SSSB’s system automatically checks membership registers daily.
- Responsibility: It is your responsibility to ensure your membership appears as “active” on My Pages.
- Data Matching: Ensure you use the same email address and Swedish personal identity number for both SSSB and your Student Union to ensure the systems sync correctly.
3. Population Registration (Folkbokföring)
It is a legal requirement to be registered at your actual living address in Sweden.
- Requirement: You must report your student housing address as your primary residence to the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket).
- Verification: SSSB monitors population registration data and may check your status at any time during your tenancy.
